There's a bunch of M4 lowers out there. I can't remember which company had them but they wanted almost a grand for one i think. Just marked Colt M4, guess they were an over run that was never built into a gun. I'd love to see that. I'd probably throw down the cash for one. I've seen the magpul lowers go for 2500, so 1k for a M4 marked lower isn't a stretch. |

You are not going to be getting an RO920 or RO921 military property lower surplus any time soon. Those are the ones marked "PROPERTY OF US GOV'T M4(M4A1) CARBINE," and presumably the ones you're asking about. Only government agencies get them, and they are only select fire weapons.
If you are an SOT, it is possible to purchase an RO977, also marked Colt M4 CARBINE, however, it is not the same set of markings as the RO920 or 921, and they are all post-'86 weapons. Most select fire "M4s" on the market today are in fact marked either "M16A1" or "M16A2," again, commercial variants, though a very few U.S. PROP marked M16A1s to exist as transferrable within the civilian market. In the semi-auto, but still NFA market, Colt manufactures the LE6921 carbine, which is a semi-automatic only version of the RO977, and considered a short-barreled rifle. However, a lot of dealers have gotten into the game of having longer flash suppressors permanently pinned on LE6921s and having their serial numbers removed from the NFA registry. These are marked <M4LE> as well as having the "RESTRICTED" verbiage on the right side of the magwell. In the Title 1 market (16" barrel or greater) Colt manufactures the LE6920, which is the non-NFA, 16" barreled version of the LE6921. It is marked "COLT'S LAW ENFORCEMENT CARBINE" and it too carries the "RESTRICTED" markings. Colt also manufactures the MT6400C, the AWB compliant version of the LE6920, which is marked "MATCH TARGET M4 CARBINE," and lacks the "RESTRICTED" language on the right side of the magwell. It is, however, caliber marked ".223" rather than "5.56MM." All Colt semi variants lack selector markings on the right side of the receiver, which all the select-fire variants currently produced do. ~Augee |
Here ya go, the M4 lowers.
Sorry though couldn't find one for just the lower, gotta get a whole gun http://phoenix.backpage.com/SportsEquipForSale/1750-colt-xm4-556mm-complete-rifle-on-colt-le6921-m4-marked-lower-ar15-ar-15-car-15/10926260 I wish I could find the place that had them before, i guess it's a pretty rare thing to come across. |

Well here ya go, took me a few mins but it was bugging me so I had to find them http://www.knesekguns.com/commercial/product_info.php?products_id=1544 I hate it when they deregister lowers like that...I guess if someone really wants a colt lower with "M4" stamped somewhere on it, I guess they dont mind spending that much on it then. Just think, with about an extra $400, you could have a complete 6921. Or if you like burning money, buy the upper separately for another $1000. I guess it kinda makes me mad because I dont live in a banned state. I guess some firearm dealers find it more beneficial for them to take a rifle that sells for about $1400 and split it up make that MSRP of $1400 turn into $2000. I would really like a 6921 lower...but I dont want one that has been deregistered, and I will not pay a such a high premium where if I throw in a couple more Benjamins', I get a brand new Colt upper to go along with it. |

Ive got 3 colts and I love them, but a grand for a lower? People should be ashamed for even trying to do that to people. Same with the magpul lowers. I'm sure they're very nice but in no way can that price be justified. Maybe I'm wrong, it's been known to happen before but I can go get an entire all colt rifle for the price these companies are trying to gouge the public for on lowers.
I went and bought one of the mil/le stamped guns just after the aw ban died as I figured it would be sort of a collectors thing. I got raped but oh well. This stuff there's just no excuse for. Ok I feel better after my little rant there. :) |
