***Update in last post***

Hey guys, I'm looking at having some M60 bipod bushings made. They will only fit on .625 LW A1 barrels, so can't really call them 606, but it's the same concept. I'll be having a batch made in the next few weeks, so of anyone is interested in further info, drop me an email. I'm trying to keep cost down, and the more interest, thhe heaper they'll be. Park to be done by JT too.

You can see the bushing in the thread below, I'm duplicating the slipover type that John Thomas posted pics of toward the bottom of the page. NOT the threaded ones.

606 thread

Mods, if this is a no no, let me know and I'll remove the content.

Saturday bump.

Just a little update. I have had some solid interest in the bushing, but no new info on production cost. Still waiting on a few things to line up, my apologies for the delay.

Please shoot me an email if you are interested, and I will continue to update everyone as things progress. Thanks!

***Update***

My machinist is prett much ready to go on these, I'm heading in to see him tomorrow to take a look at the first prototype for final approval. Everything's looking good for turnaround within 2 weeks or so.

I emailed everyone with a quick update, I think. If you didn't get an email from me and your interested, drop me an email and I'll fill you in. Anyone else who wants to get in on this, let me know. There will be plenty of parts to go around.

Thanks again everyone for your patience, you know how these things take time.

ETA: Just for clarity, the parts will be milled within 2 weeks, I will still have to send them out to JT for park. So realistically we're looking at around 3 weeks till I can ship. Just a heads up.

Alright guys, I went to my machinist today and picked up the prototype bushing. It is awesome!! Fits and functions like a dream. Production is to start first thing next week. Here are some pics of the part to give you an idea of how it works.

The bushing slides over the barrel like a collar, the bipod yoke slides on the bushing, and a standard lock washer and flash hider screw on like normal and hold the assembly together. The bipod is allowed to cant about 10-12 degrees side to side.

No threads involved, it just slides over the barrel and the flash hider secures the bipod and bushing on the barrel. See pics above.

IM sent jm, sorry I missed ya. As far as I know, bipods are pretty hard to come by. They ocassionally pop up here and there, but they average around $150-$200 for a nice one. Gotta be vigilant in your searching, but they're out there.

Well sarcoinc has some bipods listed but no pics. $225

Man that looks good.
There is a bipod on gunbroker right now, I found a dozen
Places that had them last night, all around 200.

I was planning on bidding on the one on gun broker but my account was flagged. Hopefully I can get it straightened out tomorrow.

nice job MrM1A1

now watch the m60 bipods prices go up accordingly

I went ahead and did a little work myself on the prototype, thought it needed a little help. I gave it a bevel treatment to enhance the look of the profile, and I love how it came out, looks much better. Once parked, it will blend in with the bipod yoke nicely.

This will be an option for those interested.

That's a nice touch. Definitely gives it a more organic look.
You've done a really nice job with this.  If I thought I could find a reasonably-priced bipod, I'd definitely want one!

MrM1A1 - I'm afraid you've just changed official retro designation from mere addict to purveyor. If you move to enabler life will be over as you know it. Excellent job.

Hey all, I posted this in the group buys section on RBR. More specific info on pricing and such. I don't want this to turn into an issue like the proto FSB thing.

I found a new in wrapper M-60 bipod , and new M-60 flash hider. Keep us posted on the bushing. I would like to see a bushing that will take the M-60 flash hider.

Kind of hit or miss these days, gotta be vigilant on your searching. Keep an eye out on GunBroker, bipods and flash hiders pop up here and there.

Sarco has a bunch of M60 parts here. Bipods are $225, but they really are almost always about $200 anywhere else, so if you're jonesing for one, Sarco would get my vote. More likely to get a nice one I would think.

Oh, just an update, I will be picking up the freshly machined bushings in the nest few days. Then they will be sent off to JT for park first of next week. Gotta check with John to see what kinda lead time we're looking at, but I don't think it should be too long now. Updates to come.

MrM1A1,

Right now, everything here is under control.  So, if you get the adapters to me soon (and I don't get bombardaded between now and the time I get your parts), I'll just need approximately 2 or 3 days.

I had the late Kurt from KurtsKustom fit a m60 bipod and custom m60 style flash hider to my AR10 about 10 years ago.

Just an update for everybody, I ran into some minor delays this past week getting the bushings all finished up, but am hoping to ship them to JT for park today or tomorrow. Should be all done and start shipping orders by this time next week! A little behind schedule, but not too bad.

Also, there are still some adapters available if anyone is interested. Shoot me an email or check RBR "group buys" for more details.

Thank you for everyone's patience, I will post any further updates.

Hey guys, wanted to update everyone. I got the bushings back from Mr John Thomas, they look great, he did a very nice job on the park.

I will be shipping the bushings out tomorrow to those who have preordered. Will confirm when shipped.

Also, there are still more available from this batch, all finished up. Not likely to be another run, so these are the last ones. Email me if you would like more info.

Thank you everyone for your patience, took a couple weeks longer than I wanted, but I'm glad theyre ready to go for you guys. Thanks again for helping me make this happen, and a BIG thank you to John Thomas for his help on this project.

My bushing came in today also.  Works great.  I hooked it up to my bipod and pencil barrel.  Very nice fit and finish.

Thanks to MrM1A1 and also J.T. for making this one happen.

I continued to be astonished at the level of talent on this board.
