I just bought 150 rounds of M855 Lake City 2012 ammo at Ammunitionstore.com for $104 including shipping.  Is this a good site?

question should have been, "was that a good price?"

Good site.....Bad price.
My local shop sells 20rd boxes of m855 for $10.00 each. (.50cents per round)
Even that is a little high.
You paid  .69cents per round.

Walmart sells Federal .223 for $34.00 per hundred.
.34cents per round.

Dunhams has 100 rd boxes of American Eagle m193 for $40.00

All depends if you want to save it for future use or shoot it.  High for plinking rounds.

I wanted to score some M855 before penetrators are banned.  I could have got a better deal if I bought 1000 rounds.  I only had about $100 to spend, so I had to pay more per round.  A lot of places were clean out of stock.

Why would they be banned?

The ammo that I bought is Minutemen USA brand and it says that it uses new LC brass.  I think that I made a mistake.  I thought that this was LC stuff.

If anyone selling ammo told you that, just walk away.

I changed my order to the Federal LC stuff.  I purchased 200 rounds.  Fifty cents per round.  That is just what it costs now.

I read an email from the NRA, and it said "The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is taking public comments on its website until December 31, with regard to how it should determine what types of projectiles meet the "sporting purposes" exception to the federal "armor piercing ammunition" law. At this time, the question centers primarily around rifle-caliber projectiles made of metals harder than lead, such as the Barnes Bullets solid brass hunting bullets".

This made me concerned about M855 because its steel nose is harder than lead, and it's light armor piercing.  I paid fifty cents per round because I did not have any in stock.

I just bought a 420 round can of M855 from a local store for $199 which seemed a little high to me compared to standard 55gr FMJ but they won't be shot much unless a situation calls for them.  They are all in little packs of 30 (3 stripper clips of 10).  I never had any ammo on clips before and have to say that loading from clips is a real pain in the butt.  I wound up removing the rounds from the clips and loading them by hand.

I was seeing that price around here a couple months before the election even…. Before that I would pay around 160-170

Loading from stripper clips is a breeze.  Did you use a spoon?  If you don't want your stripper clips I'll pay shipping if you want to get rid of them.

Why is that funny? Im not currently wearing a tin foil hat but is it really hard to believe that if they cant take the guns bullets seem like the next logical choice……Something with a steel core seems like a prime candidate.

There's no such thing as "light armor piercing". M855 is not AP, no matter what the advertisement says.
