I'd buy the hell out of it.

Its a Hungarian brand but some say is subbed out to Barnul.

Its much cleaner and hotter than wolf.

I've shot thousands of rounds with no problem, in fact it is my blasting ammo of choice.

Best,

Fin

It looks and acts just like SB but its not as hot, at least the velocity was not as fast as SB when I shot it.

Its good,

That answers a question I had about MFS ammo.  I have only seen the zinc stuff in .223; do they make any other calibers with zinc coated steel cases?

Sportsmans guide had some MFS 308 earlier this year, not sure it is was steel cased though.

I got a smoke'in deal on some .308 ball not too long ago and I was very impressed at it's accuracy and reliability.

I took my AR to the range the other week just to make sure it was sighted in since I had the scope off and on. I used this ammo first (as it's my blasing ammo) just to make sure it was on target, and was then going to make sure it was zeroed for my HD ammo. I shot a 3 shot group at 50 yards and the group was about a half-inch directly on the bullseye. Not only was I very impressed with the ammo, but also with the scope and mount, a Burris tac-30 with the Burris mount, for maintaining it's zero.

I brought some home today and loaded a magazine up, colder than hell out, 3 above, but they shot good for cheap steel, a hair over 2 inches at a hundred yds, surprised by the ball o fire even against the snow it was easy to see, never noticed that with wolf, anyway i like this stuff.

We used the MFS .223 zinc cased stuff exclusively for a training class a few weeks ago. 20 students each fired about 500 rounds and no problems what so ever. It's good stuff. My best group was 2.5moa with an EOTEC and 3X at 100 yards, Palmetto upper.

I bought a 1Krds of the 223 but haven't shot a round of it yet, 500 loaded in mags and the other 500 still in the factory case.

It is.  If you buy a case of it the main cardboard box says made in Barnaul right on it.  That was my experience with the 308 version anyway.  It seems identical in all ways to my SB 308...except for the MFS branding of course.

Even the goofy head stamp on the case head is the same one wpa cases uses, except the case is silver.

I get about 2 MOA or slightly under with my PWS MK216.  For what it is (cheap, steel-cased, Eastern-Block ammo), yes, I find that impressive.  Especially compared to other ammunition in it's category.  No, it's far from anything considered "match-grade", but it's good enough for plinking and/or running drills out to 100 meters.

I wish I kept the one box I picked up from the LGS.

It was green and red, different from the black packaged stuff.
