I have Miad grip setups on 2 of my rifles . The first one installed no problem 5 minutes done.
Last nite (I say this at the risk of ridicule and those freekin little smiley face things) I was installing my 2nd MIAD grip on a preban Bushy lower and the grip screw felt super super tight going in. At first I got nervous that I had cross threaded the grip screw....I quickly backed it out, removed the grip from the receiver and checked the screw and threads on rec. to confirm it was ok. So now I realize its just a super tight fit with the blue locktite on the grip screw. I realy  didnt think the screw was going to survive the installation....thats how tight it went in. I kept thinking the screw head was going to snap off and leave me with a nice stud in the rec. hole.
So now I am just about done(I thought) and the grip was still loose and it felt like the screw was bottoming out in the rec.. I backed out the screw again (just to be safe) and confirmed the lenght of the screw was not longer then the hole it was going into. Of course it wasnt.... then I  took my skirt off and put my wrist and forearm into overload  and  I am not a little scrawny guy and always feel like I am overtightening things with my big oafish hands . I cranked the shit out of the grip screw till it finaly seated on the bottom of the grip and now it is a rock solid fit.
I just know the first time I installed the MIAD  grip it wasnt that forceful.
This may sound like alot of hot air but has anyone had this same result with the grip screw going into the reciever Satan tight.
Please be gentle

Tried in 2 Colts and 1 CMMG lower. Never that tight.  Also sold the grip and went back to the issue A2 grip FWIW.

I had the same trouble with mine last week.  Further, I had to sand the inside section of the beavertail rear.

Did you use the bolt that your rifle already had, or did you use the bolt that came with the MIAD?

You can always email the Magpul Tech support, Justin Beard, at [email protected]

The only thing I can think of is if the anodizing on the lower was thicker than normal. Did the FCG pins go in tight too?

Yes,  used the supplied slotted screw that came with the MIAD kit. I think if they used an allen key type bolt like the A2 grip used it would be an easier install. I could use a 1/4 inch ratchet for a little leverage.
Dont get me wrong....The Grip fits beautifuly and I have NO FEAR of it becomming loose!!!
So I guess tight is good but this was border line too tight.

This lower is a preban Bush that came as a complete rifle . It was a Like new rifle I purchased off the EE about two months ago. Last nite was the first time it was dissasembled ever. So maybe the anodizing thickness would be the answer????
My other Bushy lower had maybe 4 or 5 different grips switched out over the years and that MIAD grip went on in a matter of minutes.

<shrug> I put one on my AR like 2-weeks ago. No issue other than just getting the screw into the hole.

Isn't that ALWAYS the problem?

Rub some of the loctite off of the screw and then install the screw into the hole without the grip installed.  Run it in and out a couple of times and then install with the grip.

Try a little nail polish remover on the screw to get the residue off.
