I haven't ordered the parts yet, but does the handguard cap need to be removed to install this FF rail?  I plan on bobbing down the FS and therefore not even take it off the barrel.  I would as soon leave the FSB on, I prefer pinned vs clamped GB.  If the handguard cap needs to go I will take the FSB off and slide the cap off, but it seems like the FF rail would clear it.
Anybody with knowledge on the subject feel free to chime in, thanks in advance.

Are you going to completely cover the gas block with the rail?  If so, you might need to remove the cap.

If your rail is not extending past the gasblock, then NO you don't have to remove the cap.

I plan to cover the GB with rail.  I should have been more specific.  I am going to use my mid length Hbar w/ a flattop and put a rifle length FF rail on it.  I had heard so many horror stories lately about getting FSB pins out I was going to leave it alone and bob down the FS so the rail would fit over it.
I tried to rmove the FSB pins today, they were easy to drift out.  So here in a little bit I will order a MI FF rifle length tube and YHM rear flip and a front forearm flip sight.  One more question, I will have to remove the FH do I need to replace the peel washer or can it be reused with the same FH??
