Good day all-
Can someone explain the difference between Mod 0 and Mod 1? Also, I just purchased Mod 0 at $1.30 a round. Did I get a good price? Stuff is a cpl yes old. Thanks!

IIRC the Mod 1 utilizes a cannelure on the bullet and a crimp around the neck of the case, which prevents bullet setback.

Both use the 77 Gr SMK.

I remember reading somewhere that in the design process of the Mod 1, Sierra refused to make their SMK's with a cannelure so originally Nosler was going to be given the contract, but once Sierra realized the possible missed opportunity they caved and the design stuck with the SMK.

Thank you for the info. Stuff shoots nice, even out of a 14.5" barrel.

Do you have pics?
Also, what  does the box look like.  I've got some mod 1 in boxes and ammo cans but I've never seen the mod 0 boxes.

I purchased 10 boxes. Factory seconds but no factor on performance. Just not sure if the price was great. I took a pic with this tablet, can't figure out how to post it here. White box, BH 77 gr OTM, factory seconds.

It is probably Mod 1 since it is BM 2nds. But it makes no difference in this case.  The price you paid is about the going rate today.  although you will hear people say they paid a lot less not very long ago, and it was down hill both ways etc etc

I ran a good bit of it through my 7 twist barrels and it shot really well. I had no performance difference between mod0 and mod1.

Ok.  A bit different from mine which is brown cardboard marked my 262 mod 1.  I've not seen the white boxes.

Just an FYI - The Black Hills 77g SMK .223 pressured version is softer shooting, not nearly as loud, and seemed to be slightly more accurate from the few barrels I've tried both loads with.   That 223 version has no problem killing a good sized deer out of a 16" barrel, either.  Shot two, both DRT from 80 and 130 yards.  Unless you really want to reach out 600+ yards, I really like the 223 version, and it should do the trick on most anything you're actually going to kill with an AR.
