It is my understanding that the difference between a 77 gr mk262 mod 0 and mod 1 is the mod 1 has a cannelure.

So what is the difference between a mod 1 and a mod 2? I've only seen the mod 2 referred to in forums so it may not even exist.

As of Nov 2013 is anyone commercially selling it and which mod are they selling?

Thank You for your help

Maybe this has something to do with the change?

I don't think there's a Mod 2. Check the FAQs, I think there's stuff in there about Mk262.

All,
There is no MK262 Mod 2. Jeff

Edit, for added info. After we identified the need for beter temperature insensitivity in 2005, we notified Navy, and developed an improved propellant, as well as improved brass. All lots after Lot 96 in 2005 have the propellant with improved temperature insensitivity. There was no Mod change as a result of the propellant change.  JH

I think mod 0 has a nosler bullet and mod 1 has SMK.

I'm amazed by your customer service. This is the second time I've seen a prompt and informative answer from the head of the company.

Jeff, Is the red box, new 77gr NATO that BH sells the same spec as MK262? Including the powder change?

Thanks again for all the input and excellent CS.

Itchy-finger,

Yes. It is identical to MK262 Mod1, including the propellant change.

Differences are it is in commercial pack rather than mil pack, and it does not go through military acceptance testing, because it isn't going to the military. Jeff
