16" LMT upper M4 cut. I will be buying a YHM free float rail with a specter gas block, good 3.5-10x Mark 4 tactical Leupold. Will it shoot moa?

Let me know if you have done this!

Is the question.

Maybe.   With the right ammo, and shooting set up.  Maybe.  I'm sure you'll get some nice groups out of it.  Post em when you get em.

It might, with the right ammo loads, glass, position, and shooter.

True MOA shooters are more rare than MOA rifles. If you can shoot MOA on demand you will dominate "High Power Competition".

In fact most Master class shooters are hard pressed to shoot MOA on demand.

Amen

90% of most guns shoot MOA... when the shooter can...

From sandbags,   I would expect that MOST competent shooters can shoot MOA or better.

I can.  But only from the bags or bench rest.

I think my biggest downfall of trying to shoot MOA with a 16" will be curbing my excitement. I still get giddy when I shoot this thing!

I am in the process of installing the YHM FF tube and when i get this thing to the range I will let all of you know how the SHOOTER did.

The biggest fault with the Black Rifle is the stock trigger.  Gritty, long and nasty.  I can achieve almost 1/2 MOA groups with my AR with the stock trigger, and I am hoping for an aftermarket trigger in my stocking towards the end of the month.  Any reputable shooter should be able to handle a 2-3 pound trigger pull. (mine will be a 1.5 pound Jard)  I am used to the 2-4 OUNCE triggers on my Anschutz and Remington 700/Canjar!  I feel a quality trigger pull can improve a seasoned shooter.

I demand pics...or else I'm callin BS and throwing you in w/ the rest of the big talkers

1/2 MOA groups w/ the stock trigger....

how bout a pic of the gun you use, ammo used, proof, how many meters out.....seriously i hate when ppl say half MOA and don't provide a distance, ammo, rifle used, shooting conditions etc.....

but i agree w/ you on the improvement of triggers will help your shooting

My rifle
My link to my first build a couple weeks ago.  .65" measured with a analog dial caliper.  100 yards benchrest.  27.5 grains of Varget, 55gr Winchester bulk bullets, Winchester brass and primer seated to 2.110".  Started with 24.5 gr Varget and the more powder you stuff in it the better it shoots.  This is a compressed load but haven't had any pressure issues.  A picture of the group is in the link.  Loads were loaded on a Dillon 550B.  85.7 meters by the way...

I've turned in groups as tight as 3/8 inch (one ragged hole) at 100 yard with my pet handload, with 100 percent stock trigger group components,  from the sandbags.

I truly don't believe that the trigger group matters worth a damn as long as it works as designed,  if you're shooting from the sandbags.

Ya I know where ur coming from.  It's all in the load.  I was just looking at a sales flyer advertising NATO surplus ammo at a fraction more than I can reload them for in the same quantity (1,000 rounds)  +$40 or so...  Thought about buying them but who knows what they will shoot like?  I enjoy reloading, and the Dillon press makes it that much more enjoyable.  I'll stick to reloading.  At least I know my capabilities with the reloads.  In the spring I am going to get some match bullets and see what she'll really do.
