I've read some posts that some people are having a problem getting their MOE-Plus PG's to snug up using the supplied screw. Is it possible to use a standard AR PG screw, or is this a non-issue? I've never had a problem with any of my other non-Magpul PG's. I'd prefer not to screw up my lower over a $25 accessory. |

IIRC the magpul grips use a shorter screw with a larger flat head. Use of the original screw could lead to the grip breaking off, thought it is unlikely and use of a washer would probably prevent it. Normally they are hard to thread on because of the locking goop on the threads. The thread locking compound can be heated to make it softer or partially scraped off to make the screw go in easier.

| I used a MOE + on a Spikes lower, using the Magpul screw that comes w/ the grip, which has loctite on it. I prefit the screw just to see how much I can screw it and found that I have to scrap off quite a bit of the loctite before the screw would go in, but it is still tight and has a very good fit and very secure. |
| I am curious how the supplied screw could leave the grip loose? The screw will not bottom out unless it is overly long ( 1/2 inch plus). If when you screw the grip in and it stops, or gets really tight, press the grip in further, or stop turning the screw if the grip is in solidly. If neither is the case check the actual screw for correct thread pitch, and or damage, then check the bolt hole for an obstruction. Run the loctited part of the screw through the flame of a lighter and install the screw without cross threading it. If the screw still does not work, you are unfit of even handling a firearm, and should leave it to supervised children and adults. |

Works fine for me. Had to muscle it a few times cuz of the thread locker. It's solid. The thread locker can be pretty thick on some, and can give some people a hard time getting them screwed on all the way. As Stickman said, with an added part of I always chase the threads a little of the screw and the lower. |
