I was considering getting a 3 point sling but I decided to put a surefire m500a forend on my rifle so now it would be hard to operate the controls on the weaponlight. What can yall tell me about the specter MOUT 1 point. would this be a good choice?
Thanks, Rebel |

I have a Specter Gear MOUT single point sling which was my first tactical sling I bought about four years ago.
I'm still using it on my 9mm AR carbine and it's a good quality basic single point sling but I prefer 2 point slings and there are even 2 point slings convertible to single point which is the hot slings currently. With the single point sling the advantages are you could operate your firearm in confined spaces like CQB or vehicles, but they're not very good when moving around also watch where you drop your weapon, make sure you drop it on your support side, if you drop it in the center it will hit your nuts. On my main home defense carbine I'm using Gear Sector GS-2P two point sling, their design is modular so you could get their optional attachments and convert it to a single point sling if you have a receiver end plate sling mount. http://www.gearsector.com/ With my mainly outdoors heavy duty carbine I use Viking Tactics (LaRure version with built-in push button QD swivels) because I could adjust it very snug to my body when I use my hands, hike, run, and climb. http://www.vikingtactics.com Another good single to two point convertible sling is the Magpul MS2 with their dedicated ASAP sling mount. http://www.magpul.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=82_132 For mainly shooting like in carbine classes and tactical training the Vickers VCAS two point slings are popular. http://www.blueforcegear.com/products2.cfm?id=2 |
