I have a friend who has a Colt Match Target Competition H-Bar Rifle. It has removable carry handle, 1/9 twist, 20" heavy barrel with compensator. The gun is easily 98% condition. I called Colt and they said it was manufactured in 2000.
Blue book list around $1550.00 for 98%.
He wants $1100.00 for it. Is this worth buying or should I buy another AR that is new. Can any tell me about this gun good/bad experiences.
Thanks Chris

I have a MT6700 and paid $995 NIB from a retailer in September 2004 the week before the ban expired. The MT6700 did not have a muzzle device as delivered from the factory. The MT6700C and 6700CH did have muzzle devices from the factory per my reference. I don't believe my MT6700 would be worth $1K now(and it is 98%+) and if that's really what you have, that would apply to the one you're looking at as well.  If it really is a "C" or "CH" that you have and the muzzle device is OEM, that would probably increase it's worth but how much....???? A couple of hundred would seem reasonable, but if it's an aftermarket muzzle device, then I couldn't estimate.

I've added a FH, trigger upgrade, and optics to mine and it is a fine shooter.  Heavy--9+ lbs.  Good luck.

It depends on what you're into.

To ME, HBARs and 1/9 are garbage, not to mention the silly break that I would want to have removed and the barrel rethreaded for a FH.  So, no, to me it's not worth it since for that price +/- I can get a NIB Colt in the exact configuration I want.

If this rifle fits the bill of what you want, then scoop it up.
