My newly built rifle seems to have an issue with getting the magazine to lock into place.  The lower is a stag with a DPMS LPK, and any mag that I try seems to be a PITA to get the mag to lock into place.  I have tried 4 pmags, 2 CCA, a mil surplus, and a colt.  Is this just a new rifle issue that with continued use will clear up or do I have a bad part?

Did the magazines fit the lower when the mag catch was not installed?  If the fit was fine then try the following:

If it takes force to get it past the catch try loosening the mag catch one turn at a time.

If it is a problem with the magazines going in fine, but not being held in place, try tightening the mag catch one turn at a time.

It won't lock in place or are you having an issue with mags not getting to the catch?

Its like it wont lock up.  It seems to fit in well just not go up all the way unless you give it a huge bump.  Does that make sense?

Are you trying to insert a fully loaded magazine with the bolt closed? If so, this can be difficult.

I got a RRA lower with a factory installed LKP, and I ended up having to grind the mag catch down a tad, just to take the edge off of the face that contacts the mag first because it was catching the mags and scratching into them, making it difficult to load mags. You might try loading mags slowly while keeping a mental note of where it's getting hung up.
