Was at a class this past week, and one of the guys there had a mag loader that was great.  Not a Lula.  It was plastic, about a foot long... you opened it up and lined up 20 rds in a row, closed it, and placed a mag at the bottom.  Pushing the lever down then fed all 20 rds into the mag.  Guy cant remember where he got it, but said it wasnt that expensive.   Any ideas, anyone seen it and know where to get it?  Thanks in advance for any info.

Mag loaders have alway humored me.  I've futzed around with a few of them but I've never really found any that actually made mag loading easier or faster.  You still have to load the mag loader then load the mag and very few of the mag loaders I have seen actually hold 30 rounds so then you have to do it twice per mag.  Eventually I just gave up on them...

The one exception to this is the mag-loader-assist that come with Glocks.  Some time you just have to have one for those new Glock mags.

Another handy option is the loader that's used with the Beta C Mag. You need to have your ammo pre-loaded on stripper clips. But that gives you something else to do with your hands beside hold your beer while you're watching the History Channel.

Very fast, slick, and clean when you get to the range.

I think Bushmaster sells a magloader like you are describing. I have one and it does not work work a damn for more than 5-10 rounds at a time.

I like the LULA.  Saves the thumbs and is inexpensive.

HUGE #1

Plus, you can UNLOAD with the LULA.  The LULA is the all around best accessory I own for the AR, saves time AND bloody thumbs.

All other loaders are a waste of money.

I agree on the Beta style loader.  They also have used another style that doesn't take stripper clips and that is the one I prefer.   If I am gonna load and shoot all day, I gotta have one.

i store ammo on strippers and use the standard USGI "spoons" for loading mags, but the LULA is the way to go for loose ammo.  i shoot 3gun and its great to take 2 half-used mags, and in seconds unload and reload them into one full mag!
sure you can do it without a LULA, but for $20 bucks and 2oz, why not?

a friend of mine got one like what your talking about but it loaded 30rds.

real cool but just as much hassle as loading by hand cause you have to load the 30 into the loader and then pull the lever

i like the lulu a lot better.

he got it from some local shop ill ask him if theres any markings on there

HowTF did people get along before the LULA.

It is probably a Cammenga Easyloader.

I have one and love it with Wolf ammo. With the plastic carrier that Wolf comes in inside the box, it makes it really easy to load. Single loading it is a pain in the ass, though.

I've fiddled with the LULA and I can load single rounds by hand much faster, so I decided not to get one.

EDIT: BTW, it holds 20rds

I'm a big stripper clip fan, but I still worship at the altar of the LULA.  God help me if I had to unload a magazine manually !

I have found the rifle works best and is the most enjoyable way to unload a mag.

I got mine through Bushmaster.

It was back in the catalog close to the other mag-related accesories, IIRC.
