If another mag solves the problem, the check the back of the U slot of the USGI 20 round mag for cracks, and if none are found, rebuild the mag with a new spring.

If the mag is a cheap clone unit, than that in it's self could be the problem at hand.

Is it made out of metal or plastic, new or used? I have had no problems with any metal ones. I have one plastic one that is well used, and it does not lock back on the last round fired. This mag is marked so I know which one it is for when I go to the range. If there are no other problems with any other mags, like stated before, then it is the one mag.

Some lower/magazine combos will give this problem. I don't know if it is the magazine, the magazine well, the location of the bolt latch or a combination of all that can allow the latch to slip down behind the follower. Make sure this is not the problem. If not, maybe your magazine spring is weak or the bolt latch spring may be too strong. Also make sure the rifle is not short stroking.
