When i did my first lower today, i followed the pics in this section step by step, when i did the mag release button i tightened it down but it seems like it is sticking out too far.. I can turn it still but it wont go any deeper into the space.. what have i dont wrong? I left the pic large so you can see it better ... http://i13.tinypic.com/2a78ylt.jpg |
Yeah, I used a little brass punch to push the mag release all the way in the receiver. |
| Guys I feel stupid, lol right after i posted this, I was also in email conversation with Spike from www.Spikestactical.com and he said the same thing, I dont know how i missed that simple fix... But thank you, this is why I have enjoyed my time on these forums, fast honest answers.. and I have it at the proper height now too .. |

check out the Assembly thread at the top of this post. or... push the button all the way in with your finger. Put a peice of tape over the mag catch (on the left side of the receiver, so you don't scratch anything). Then turn the cath clockwise until it touches the receiver. back it off and until the slot is in-line with the catch. Remove the taper and release the button. The end of the bolt (threads) should be about even with the surface of the button. Check to make sure the catch completely releases a magazine. Also check to make sure the catch doesn't come out of the slot when the button is depressed "normally" |
