I have two, five round C Products 6.5 Grendel magazines that both only hold four rounds.

I contacted C Products to see about sending them in to be repaired or replaced and they responded by email and told me that they would just mail me two new springs that would allow for the full five rounds.

Well I put the new springs in and the mags still only hold four rounds. A side x side comparision of the original & replacement springs shows they are the exact same size.

Further e-mails to C Products have been unanswered.

My question is if I cut enough coils off the bottom of the magazine spring to allow five rounds to fit should the mags still function? If not I still have an extra set of four round springs.

I would need to cut the springs about where the pens points in the picture below

Thanks, John

The only reason cutting the spring would cause it to not function is if it didnt apply enough pressure to drive the round up when your bolt carrier ejected the previous round.  Only way to find out is to do it.... wont hurt it, if anything you just may incur some misloads.

Cut it and file an AAR.
