| My buddy has a couple 20 round magazines, brand unknown, that seem to consistently want to double feed on the last two rounds. They don't do it any other time except on the last two rounds. They have caused some pretty good jams. This is where I saw my first (and hopefully last) bolt overide. Whats the deal? Weak spring? Bad follower, or just a bad magazine? What do you think? Try to rebuild or time for some new magazines? |

Find out who made the mags. If they are the old military 20rds (alloy followers), I would recommend getting new springs (assuming the bodies aren't dented beyond repair); I'd say the same for the newer NHMTG, Brownells, or D&H mags. If they are CProducts, I would take them up on their warranty. If they are the cheap/non-reliable brands (i.e. USA, ProMag, National, etc.), I would stretch the springs to see if that worked. If so, I would re-spring and make it a range mag; if not, use your imagination (i.e. trade to a desperate neighbor that you don't like, parts donor/target). |
