Is anyone running a magnifier behind their MRO yet?  I had my eye on a VCOG but I think I can get a similar versatility with the MRO for close work and a magnifier on a pivot for longer range work, and save myself a grand.  Trijicon has always treated me right so the MRO is going to be the base, I just need info on magnifiers.

If so, what is your set-up?

I will likely be getting one of the LaRue mounts, so what magnifier mount will position the magnifier properly behind the MRO?

What are the good magnifiers; Eotech? Vortex?  3X power; 5X power?

The g33 is nice but expensive.  I felt it wasn't quite worth the price.  But it is bullet proof and offers outstanding quality.  Currently I have the new gen 4 primary arms magnifier.  So far I am extremely impressed with it for $100 bucks.  I have it mounted in an ADM swing mount for another $100.  Overall, great price to performance ratio...especially on something that won't always be on my rifle.

The G33 is awesome, but you're stuck at the 1/3 co-witness height. Plus the cost.....and the cost.

I ended up going with a Samson and the glass quality Nand FOV is still excellent.... not to mention the cost savings

ETA: if the larue has the option to insert/remove the riser for 1/3 co-witness, then it will likely work as well as my Samson.

The G33 would fit the budget for this project.  I just cant figure out where the centers will be with the LaRge and the G33's mount.  Its getting everything lined up that's confusing.

One-third co-witness - can you explain that a little?  I have the regular front sight on my AR.  I remember it being blurred through my eotech when I had it way back.  (Eotech w/LaRue's PO-boy magnifier).  I'm selling my 4X ACOG to fund this.  Love it but the eye relief was not working for me.

MRO? No need for a magnifier.....it's already magnified.
