I was at the shot show yesterday and stopped by the GG&G. I wanted to look through a magnifier, EoTech or Aimpoint, before buying. I have heard that they sometimes don’t line up right with an EoTech aiming device and wanted to look at one for myself. I looked through a Aimpoint 3x into an EoTech and I was surprised to see how poor of an image quality the magnifier gave. I thought maybe it was just a dirty one so I went to both Airmpoint and EoTech’s booth and gave a look. Wow is all I can say. My $50 pair of binoculars I bought from Wally’s world has better image quality. I’m assuming the poor image quality is because it is because you are looking through the magnifier and then the aiming device, but for $400 I expected a lot more! Unless something changes I don’t think I will be buying one of these any time soon.

On the upside I looked through the Trijicon TA01ECOS,

and man it looked like an awesome unit with great image quality. Anywho just had to vent a little.

How did was the optical quality when you were not looking through the dot scope?

Did you look at the eotech magnifier or just the aimpoint?
