Can I get opinions on the best magnifier mount for the money? I've heard that Primary Arms was junk, but that they have improved thier mount in the last year or so. True? Should I give it a try now?
If I don't go with the Primary Arms, the other two I'm looking at are the LaRue LT169 and the ADM AD-SM-01 swing out mount. Of those two, I'm leaning towards the ADM. I'm going to be using it with a Primary Arms M4 scope with the riser removed. So not sure if I need the absolute co-witness of the AD-SM-01 or the 1/3 co-witness of the AD-SM-02. Are there others that I should consider? Any help/advice/opinions appreciated. |

You got the ADM mounts mixed up. The AD-SM-02 is the absolute co witness mount, and the AD-SM-01 is the lower 1/3.
But the Samson flip to the side mount is cool, and I think the LaRue pivot mount is considered the best, but the ADM swing mount should be good too. Never had a PA magnifier mount. |

Thanks for keeping me straight on the ADM p/n's. Now if only I knew which of the two I actually need!
I don't care for the LaRue style. The Samson is good but expensive. The ADM seems to be good quality and less money than the others. To anyone that has the ADM, do they stay put when swung out to the side? |

Not sure what magnifier you got, but I just wrapped my Burris AR-tripler 3x mag in a LaRue LT755-30s (short) behind my Bushnell HOLOsight. I love the 755 over the older style as when the mount and magnifier are flipped to the side, the base of the mount is so very low-profile so as to be able to have full access to the brightness level buttons on the Bushnell. The older style, judging by pictures, would restrict somewhat, access to the brightness level up button.
$150 plus like $14 shipping and I'm a happy man. They threw in the Dillo Dust and the Dillo bottle opener too, which sweetened the deal for certain. Even a pocket Constitution, which I found outstanding of them to do. |

Does it really cost $150-200 to make a quality swing mount? These prices just seem crazy to me. Seems like I had seen someone post a while back that there was one on Amazon for $50 that they bought and were very happy with. That sounds alot more inline to me for the cost to engineer and mfg a part like this. It's not rocket science.
I guess you're paying that extra $100 to be sure you get a part that works as you expect it to. But it sure is tempting to take a chance on the $50 one. That said, I just bought an ADM swing mount for $100. |
| FWIW, I bought one of the newer versions of the PA mount last year. It is really solid. There is no wobble. It locks tight,, it releases and swings smoothly. You need to use a little force at first, and get used to the exact motion, but once you're used to it, it locks tight in both positions and stays rock solid steady there. For the money I was very happy with it. |
