So after installing the QD end plate, my stock wont fully collapse when the sling is mounted. I'm guessing this is normal, as I don't see anyway to avoid it aside from altering the end of the stock. Has anyone had the same issue? Gouges on threads for reference only....

I would try a dif buffer tube or QD swivel. Sometimes a dif tube will give you a thread or two more/less and you will be able to fully collapse the stock against the QD mount. A dif QD may also be smaller. You just have to get the right combo that works well together. **Looking at your pic again, in your situation, I would just slightly notch out the bottom of the stock where it contacts the top of the QD. |

That's what I was thinking.....gonna have to break out the Dremel. Thank you for the info. |

| I had that issue. Youve identified the problem as the stock not collapsing completely but another serious problem that can occur is that the stock can depress the quick release and the swivel can then detach under load dropping the weapon. I think Magpul's way of addressing this was to angle the swivel down as seen in your picture but I still don't trust it. Straight swivel plates like the Noveske or BCM are worse. I tried a couple of solutions like the Dremel mentioned, also a fat O-ring on the buffer tube to keep the stock off the button. Another solution to consider is the Vltor A5 system which moves everything out although that is really the tail wagging the dog. Dremel is probably best. |
