If you are building a new rifle or have a rifle, is Magpul the only place to look for a grip?

Serious question?
Obviously they are not unless you are a magpul fan boy and buy nothing else but magpul.

Having said that, I do like their MOE+ k2 grips, but I also like my ERGO grips. I've dabbled a little with the BCM mod3 but haven't found a host for long term placement yet.

Not a fan boy, it is the majority of what is seen when looking for a grip.

So is Magpul at the top and everything else is a close second.
Is Magpul far and away the best out there?

When it comes to grips, best is highly subjective.  The Magpul MOE+ is my go to if I'm replacing an A2 or building from scratch, but I have a gun with an Ergo and one with a BCM grip and I like them just fine.

Honestly, it is all just personal preference. Isn't really anything that makes one better than the other in my opinion. The sticky rubberized texture on my Magpul K2+ is nice and it has a more relaxed grip angle than the regular MOE grip that comes standard on a lot of rifles now. But my ergo grips I have I enjoy all the same.

BCM MOD 0 is my favorite.

Ergo is nice also.

Still prefer A2.

I love Magpul products, but honestly... my go to AR grips are the Hogue with beavertail. I buy them two or three at a time, and put them on every rifle I build. Grips are kind of a personal thing. It is your interface with the rifle, and it needs to fit right to YOU. Companies do a great job and spend tons of money trying to make something that will be mostly comfortable to all users, but ultimately, they are all slightly different. That being said, if Hogue didn't make the ar grips, i'd be looking at the Magpul MOE+ or the K2+. The K2 offers some slight changes in angle that seem intriguing, but... I'll continue to run what I know I like.

I prefer the Magpul MIAD, my wife prefers either the Hogue or TangoDown.

The ergo grips are my favorite with the moe+ a close second. As others have said, grips are a personal choice, find what you like.

I've got two Magpul grips and an Ergo. I'm happy with the Magpuls, but I really like the feel of the Ergo. I think the only reason I ordered a Magpul this last go-round is I had several other items I was ordering from them so I just tagged it on the order.

I like/use Ergo, BCM MOD 3 and Magpul. I find most grips are cheap enough that if you don't like it it's no big deal to just toss it in a parts bin for the next build. Those are the 3 I will buy now though after some experimentation.

I used to just use magpul. I had 1 ergo and it was ok. I don't like finger grooves though. I really like the strike industries enhanced I think it feels better than magpul. Also I just tried my first bcm mod 1 and that grip is outstanding.

not intended as a thread hi-jack ...

a buddy let me fondle his cool grip with 1911 angle and I *REALLY* liked it but don't recall the manufacturer (doh!)

do you just want 'something to monkey finger' or do you have a desired characteristic (like my now preference for a 1911 angle  grip)?
