I just installed one but I couldn't get the commercial size locking key to go in. Yes I have a commercial buffer tube. I used the milspec locking key and it seems to be doing fine. Do ya'll think there will be problems later on? WHAT SAY YE!!!!

I did the same...milspec locking key in commerical tube...hell one of my rifles doesn't even have the little locking key in the buffer tube and it has never budged and the stock is straight. EASIEST way I found to install that little key is to simply place the rifle barrel down so you are staring directly down at the ass end of the rifle. Then just set your locking key on the adapter, line up the slot with the channel in the tube...take a little flat head and just push that key into the cut out...should fall right in...at least the milspec should...never could get the commercial key to seat.

The Commercial key is hard to get in, I had to use a hammer and a punch to get it in. I originally used the milspec but that lasted a day in a carbine class before it came undone. Take it for what it's worth, it will go it but it is much harder then getting the Milspec key into a mil buffer.

I had the same problem. I felt like I was trying to get a square peg in a round hole. I just used the mil-spec key instead, seems to work.

Just shave down the commercial one so its a perfect fit, the tighter, the better. That's the only thing keeping the stock from rotating.

I also used the punch/hammer method. It took some time but I finally got it in and its rock solid.

I'd install it the way it was meant to be installed.  Having a receiver plate come loose while shooting will lead to a crappy day.

I had the same problem with installation.

I installed the smaller one and have had NO issues thus far.
