I'm curious about magpul handguards.  This would be for an M&P 15 ORC carbine.  What are the pros/cons?  I have to admit that this would be mostly for cosmetic reasons; I don't see bolting stuff to the rails.

I really like my magpul fore-end as it just feels more comfortable for me. I like the flat bottom as it rides my front rest much better than the stock round ones. And it was easy to add a little color to my rifle. Most of all it allowed me to be able to mount a CAA 5 position light mount without adding more metal (weight) or spending a lot of cash. Best of both worlds imho. In fact, if they make one that fits my armalite 308 rifle length fore-end I'm gonna order one. 44

This. + affordable, modular (you can add rails, grips, etc), and good looking (if you're into that kind of thing).

And comfortable. I like the profile so much better than the oval M4.
