Hi Everyone, I am still really new to building/un-building my AR-15.

I just received my Magpul MIAD Grip which I want to install today. I had someone tell me to be careful about not loosing a spring that is going to pop out when I take the stock Houge grip off.

Can someone walk me thru or give me a link on how to install this new grip? Anything I need to watch out for? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Once you do it you'll see its easy.
Check this page out, number 7. About 1/8 the way down the page.

Link to Build it Page

Below is a quote from it:

7.  Next, install the safety selector into the left side of the reciever.  Install the selector detent, and spring into the detent hole:

Install the pistol grip and grip screw, taking care to ensure the selector spring goes into the hole in the grip.

just be careful when removing the old grip that the spring doesn't shoot across the room, it shouldn't anyway.  Then when installing the MIAD, be careful not to bind the spring in a weird way.  It's easy, you'll see.

here is the spring in question

remove the old grip and ensure that the safety selector is not out of place as well as the detent that is in there.

should be as simple as unscrew old and replace with new, you will see a slot for the spring on the grip that it goes in.
actually replaced my wifes grip with a MOE last night.

oh and dont cross the threads! start slow.

I also find that the magpul screws have way way to much locktight on them so maybe consider removing some or using he original screw.

Yea on my first AR several years back, I figured I'd swap the grip out for a better one as well.  So I unscrewed the grip screw and put on the new grip.  I never even saw the spring or detent.  A few days later I'm getting ready to go to the range and my safety selector falls on the floor.  I was like WTF.  I take it to the shop and $5 later I was GTG.  Lesson learned.
