| I've seen the reviews on the MS3 and most of them are comparisons of the MS2 to the MS3. It seems most people speak well of the MS3 as a single point system, but what is the general consensus of it as a 2 point sling? I'm not the biggest fan of the single point and am looking at the VTAC, VCAS and MS3. Thanks! |
| The MS3 is a single point sling with a two point capability. Magpul's carbine doctrine definitely focuses on the single-point system and as a result the MS3 is not the best option for a dedicated two point set up. The biggest challenge with the two point set up on the MS3 is the difficult of using the slider to increase and decrease the length of the sling. I think the MS3 is a great sling and a big upgrade over the MS2 but if you are looking to get into a two point I would recommend the VCAS. |

The padded VCAS is my favorite two point sling, bar none. I use connection points just fore and aft of the receiver for maximum retention as opposed to those who connect at the end of the butt stock and far forward on the handguard for using the sling as a shooting aid.
The MS3 is great as a one point sling for working a wide variety of shooting drills...you get maximum ambidextrous range of motion this way. However, for extended shooting sessions or carbine classes, I really appreciate being able to click over to a two point mode for those times when you come off the line. It's much less fatiguing than having your rifle hang from a single point sling. Here's the MS3 from today. I'm still putting it through the paces, but so far so good.

| I am using the MS3 as a two point. It works very well in that role and the sliding adjustment is stupid easy to use. It is by far the best 2 point sling I have used. It also allows for a very quick and easy one-handed switch over to one point if desired. They are a bargain at 50 bucks. |
| I have a MS2, VCAS, and 2 VTACs. I personally like running QD swivels on the VCAS and VTACs over running the clips of the MS2. I personally think the QD swivels give me more options (example: QD end plate and stock attachment) and makes the transfer of slings between riffles very easy. I have to admit, the MS3 looks pretty cheap to me with the plastic clips and rings. I've only handled it at a local shop and have not actually used it on a riffle. I should also mention that I have put an ITC 2 to 1 point QD attachment on one of the VTACs so that run it as one point but never use it. I've found that if you run one end of the VTAC sling on the stock, one on the rail (both QD swivels), and pull it tight, it hangs nicer than the one point sling. IMHO you can't go wrong with a VTAC. |

We used our proprietary heavy-duty polymers where possible to save weight and Melonite treated steel in the contact areas for wear and corrosion resistance. Also, the MS3 QD will be out late spring for those who prefer a push-button swivel. |

If it does break, I am confident in Magpul's warranty. Would still like to see the large ring in a melonited steel, but if the polymer works, it works. Would love to see a roture test video of one of these slings supporting the full weight of an adult man - just to show they are tough.

I have invented a sling that will be both single-point and dual-point with quick release that makes length adjustment easy. I'm in the patent process now.
