Hey guys, I have an issue. My front sight is slightly higher then my rear and I don't know what do about it. I have the front and rear MBUS, the Magpul Moe hand guard, and Magpul rail. I was told sights have to be even or you will be way off shooting. The only option I could think of is to get a Gas block with a rail, but then I run into the problem that I cant fold the sight down because it will hit the handguard. Help please?

The moe hand guard is to tall to use the MBUS, and in my opinion not stable enough.
If you used a railed gas block the heat would melt your sight and also your front sight would be to low.
You'll have to look at other options for your front sight.

The Original A2 Tower should line with the rear yeah?

Yes but you would have to send it away to have the front base tapped to the barrel.
May not be the most cost effective option

I've never heard of that, ive seen people take them on and off

Post a picture showing your current gas block.

Did you build it yourself? You can just replace the gas block with a railed one. Will cost a little more but I would install a free float, railed handguard, and mount a front sight on it. Reasons, you are going to have to take it apart anyway and buy a new gas block. Instead of spending the money on a new gas block sell the MOE and you are close to a basic free float like a Yankee Hill. If you keep the current gas block that roll pin should be fully seated.

I love my MOE and I don't want to get rid of it. I replaced my quad rail with it and love it. I cant get a rail gas block because then the MBUS would not flip down. Which might be fine but not sure if it will be in the way of my eotech.

You couldn't mount the MBUS on the gas block, it would be to hot and melt the plastic sight.

Go back to your quad rail.

you could go with a YHM flip up gas block:

This would be the best and easiest solution. And they work well too. I have this very model on one of my builds. It's also available without the bayonet lug if that's a concern.

That or a standard f marked fsb

Does that gas block flip foward or back, if it flips forward will it be able to flip with my hand guard?

Honestly, like others have said, if you have your heart set on that magpul MOE handguard setup, put a standard f-marked front sight post on it. Otherwise, put a free floated rail on it. Midwest Industries SS Gen 2 series is very light and small. I don't know the weight of the MOE handguard but I would bet the MI rail is almost if not as light.

The configuration you have in your picture is just not viable. I had a similar set up with my first AR and I had a railed gas block with a riser on it for the front sight post but it ended up having somewhat of the opposite problem yours did (the front sight was too high). However I shot a lot of rounds through it and the front sight never melted so unless you are doing some serious shooting I don't think it will melt. If you want to keep the magpul front sight and the sights be the same height you are just going to have to leave the front sight up at all times. Here are a couple of pics of ARs I used to have with similar set ups:

Here is your OTHER option (putting a free floated tube on it):

I just figured I would show you some examples. I hope this helps you figure this out.

Okay, maybe I'm easily amused, but I think this is a pretty cool option from A.R.M.S.:

It maintains the look of the original front sight, if you like that shape.

Why is that roll pin sticking out so far?

top of the MOE handguard is not meant to have a rail on it,
hence why it is not flat.

get a different gasblock/sight.

Because that new gas block did not come with a pin, so I had to use the pin from my old one. Its only temporary.

If you really want to keep the MOE handguard I think your best solution is to get a fixed A2 sight post

Thats what im thinking of going with. Somebody above said there is two different ones, one is slightly higher then the other?

Anyobdy run the A2 with an EOTECH, is it annoying that its in the way?

I'm pretty sure there is only 1 height for fixed. I have an Eotech 512 and you definitely notice it but I have no issue finding my target. If you think it will annoy you that much, get an Eotech that has a raised mount like EXPS 2-0 that uses lower 1/3 cowitness

Just make sure it is a legit F-marked front sight post, and no an EOTech should be fine on there. If you don't like absolute co-witness get an EOTech on a riser that brings it up to 1/3rd co-witness and you will be g2g.

It flips backwards. But is no longer than the base. It should fit fine with the MOE handguards. If there's any interference it might be the sight ears rubbing the handguards, if so it should be slight and I'd trim the handguards. But I think it'll fit fine as is.

Here's mine in the fold position;

Not annoying at all.  The majority of .mil rifles have a fixed FSB and they work just fine with optics.  For the love of god fix that setup of yours.

Get a freefloat rail that allows you use the standard nut.

Fortis, Centurion, troy alpha.

here is the yankee hill flip sight folded down with a magpul handguard . I have used this sight on two different rifles just use blue lock tite on the set screws and all is well . it will work with your mag pul rear buis.
