http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1134 So my AR is commercial spec. What do i need to get to make this work or am i just not looking hard enough for a MOE stock to fit my non Mil spec AR? |

The easiest thing to do is buy the commercial MOE stock. If you want to swap buffer tubes you can run the mil spec MOE stock. All you will need is a new mil spec receiver extension and the stock - along with the castle nut tool to take off the castle nut. It is a fairly straight forward operation. -remove upper half from rifle and pull out the buffer and spring -remove the current stock by pulling down on the adjustment lever -put lower in vice (pad with wood/leather/vice blocks) -unscrew the castle nut -unscrew the receiver extension (buffer tube) while taking care not to lose the buffer detent, buffer detent spring and rear takedown pin spring -take the end plate and castle nut off the old receiver extension and place it on the new one -spin new buffer tube onto receiver - put springs and detents back into lower - depress buffer detent when the tube gets close so that it is captured by the tube -slide the end plate down compressing the take down spring -spin castle nut hand tight -align buffer tube (I normally put the stock back on to make alignment easier) -tighten castle nut while maintaining alignment of the stock -stake castle nut in place -re-assemble the rest

DSG carries the commercial version: unfortunately out of stock. DSG also carries a milspec stock kit which includes the proper diameter buffer tube: |
