I have seen pictures of magpul hand guards with no front site base. I thought the magpul handguards needed to press against the front site base to be secure. Am I wrong? I "think" I have even seen the magpul handguards over low profile gas blocks.
Any feedback/pictures would be helpful I am looking to build a new upper. |

This is how I set my grendel up until I get a ff tube on it. low profile gas block with a triangle (round works too but it's what I had available at the time) cap. Hopefully this pics will give you an idea. Can't get the pics to post but here's the links for them.

correct, but leaves enough room to a sling swivel if you have a standard front sight base.
