As you can see in the picture below the ears of the lower extend further down than the grip where the dreaded gap will normally be. As you can imagin this makes things quite uncomfortable on that top finger. I'm wondering if any of you that have one have noticed this issue or is mines a fluke. I dont mind picking up another to fix it but not if it is just going to be the same. Note that the MOE + fits correctly so it is not the lower. http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r784/jrhflooring/IMG_20131128_180645_029_zpsd587768a.jpg Post this in the Magpul industry forum Here probably get better service from Magpul themselves |

It looks like you have the long selector on the left side - i run standard on the left have you tried another lever? I'm confused. That is completely non related to my question but to answer your no I have not. The longer lever doesnt bother me as I rest my thumb on top of it, I have been tinkering with the idea of a shorter lever though. i run a short on the opposite side and I like it a lot. |

Why not just use a washer to extend the grip out a little bit? I thought about that but with so many complaining about the gap between the lower and receiver by the tang I thought I got lucky that mine fit snug. I'll give it a shot and see. I contacted magpul. I'm sure they would have no issue replacing it. They have always been super helpful in the past. I just tried the washer trick. While it works it exposed the spring for the selector more than I care for. Id hate for it to get full of debris. I dont think it would effect function but it obviously is exposed and is visible in that configuration. |

Looks like an out of spec lower. I have had a few of those, and its always a pain, but you may have to go with a pistol grip that covers the area, such as BCM, Tango Down, Troy, or even the Magpul MIAD with F4 front strap (Filton Armory sells them) Except several other magpul grips fit perfectly.... |

No... The pistol grip would rock front to back. Quoted:

Putting a rifle together to use as it's meant to be is totally different. With use gradually over time it will work fatigue. The pistol grip is only made of plastic. |

I had a Spike's lower, and of all my lowers that I have ever owned, the Spike's had the lowest protruding trigger guard wings. I had the same issue as you, and exclusively used a MIAD with F4 front strap on that lower for that reason. |
