| As a new AR owner I went out to purchase more Mag's and I notice there are many different brands to choose form. Is there anyting to stay away from? Our metal mag's better? |

There was a thread of someone in the military doing torture tests of different kinds of mags and I think they found that gen 2 pmags were the most reliable out there. I can't seem to locate it right now, but it was a great read.
Save yourself some grief and get some gen 2 pmags when you see them for around 10 dollars each. Buy 10, shoot with 5 of them and keep the other 5 just in case. Chances are you will never do anything close to breaking your pmags so after around 100 dollars you've essentially bought magazines for life. |

Stay away from Promag and Thermold unless you just use them for range mags (not to trust your life to).
USGI mags are GTG Pmags are great I personally prefer the D&H teflon coated mags with Magpul followers. DSG Arms has the grey D&H teflon coated mags in stock right now for $9.25! They also carry the black ones but not in stock right now. YMMV |
