Getting ready to order some mags...about 10 or so. I was wondering what kind to pick up. C Products have 20 and 30 rounders for $12.15 a piece. Should I go with just 30 rounders, or should I mix up and get some 20 rounders in the order?

You should first do more research on what brand to get.

D&H are great, but C products fit the bill very well. Only prob is their finish seems to come off kinda easy.

I was gonna say good luck with that, as they have been out for a few weeks, but luckily I summoned the great effort to click on the chicklet at the top of the page and check:  they are back in stock.

Now your problem is that I am going to drive up there and buy every one they have...

Plus one for this advice!  I don't know much about the company selling these mags, but OKAY mags are top notch and true USGI!  I would recommend CENTER mags also and they too are USGI.

Search around in the EE and you're bound to find good deals on new and used mags.

Look in the mag forum.  Although there are many people who are happy with C Products Mags, there are also many who experience an average 10-25% defect rate. I got 5 defective mags out of 20. The most common problem is the followers getting stuck midway up the mag.(out of spec mag bodies) I'm not saying you can't get lucky and get an entire batch that works. What i am saying is that overall C products has a higher percentage of defects then other major AR Mag Makers. Next to USA and no name mags, C products ranks third(IMO) from the bottom as far as QC and functionability. I got some D@H Teflon Mags from Bravo Company and they are great mags for the money. They don't have MagPUL Followers but from my experience the  GI Green are just as good. A tilting follower in a mag with a half way functioning  spring is extremely rare. I have mags with MagPUL and green folowers and both have been equally reliable for me.

How much experience have you had? I can give you hairy tales from over the years concerning LaBelle, Parson Precision, and even AdventureLine, magazine brands you seem to want to canonize with perfection,  SO, when you say "from your experience", OR , "higher percentage of defects than major AR mag makers", OR, "I got some D&H Teflon mags from Bravo Company and they are great mags for the money",  is your experience referring to the 20 CP mags you own along with some internet bbs reads or can you expand that out to a broader spectrum of first-hand experience? I'm not here to diminish your wisdom and advice, but there is a lot more to magazine ranking and product reporting than 20 mags from CP in the last three months.

The site looks and works kinda hoakie, but its really there for the govt to do online ordering.  They also take orders from civilians.  I've bough from there many times.  No probs.  Okay mags are IMHO some of the best current production USGI.

Take a look at PMAGS for the 30rd. My buddy got these just after I got 15 C-products. I've had no issues with my mags but, I wish I had tried these PMAGs first. My buddy was throwing these Mags in the Gravel loaded, kicking them around like a moron, blowing them out and firing. He was laughing at my reaction, which only spurred him on. There's a video somewhere of these mags being run over by a truck and thrown down on pavement, load em up and shoot em!

I couldn't get away with half that sh#$ with my mags. He paid like $14.50 a piece for them. I'm getting me some ordered for my loadout now.

I give my opinions from my personal experience along with reading reports from other people. Also guys i know at the range have reported issues from a few of the bunch of C Product mags they bought.  In addition, both my local gun dealiers don't carry C Products Mags because they have had too many guys returning them and complaining about defects.

Lets face it, every manufacturer puts out defective products. Even the allmighty  $45-55  HK "high reliability mags" have been known to be defective from time to time. It's just that I see, read and hear more bad info about C Products Mags than other manufacturers. (USA and the like being an exeption.) This is the reason why I will no longer buy nor recomend C Product Mags to anyone. Lets say(for whatever reason)  all other major brands of AR Mag Makers would no longer sell to the public; with the exeption of C Products. In that case then i would buy C Products if i needed any. This is because they would be my best(only) option.
However there are many other good options so I choose to buy and recomend other brands.

Out of the other 100 or so AR mags i have(D@H, Labelle, OKAY) i have loaded and unloaded all of them and used almost 70. Out of those 70, i have 0 defects from those other makers.

Get 3 PMAGs or so and beat the hell out of them, you'll end up ordering a Megatastic Buttload of them in the future. I was a sceptic on the whole plastic mag thing (without any metal reinforcement) but, WOW Magpul knows ARs. They even have a better visual interest than the standard "My Dad's Mag" that we're all used to.
