Hey all,
I need some help with a magwell problem. The stripped lower I have is very very tight trying to get a magazine in it. The magazine block goes in fine but pmags and aluminum mags wont fit smooth. Would using a dremel help? Any experience with this iissue? Thanks. |

If it is brand new then I would be afraid to even scratch it so that I could QUICKLY return it because it is likely out of spec.
Is it brand new? Can you return it? Have you contacted the vendor? You should not have to grind off the finish on the interior of a mag well nor alter it in any way to accept a high quality magazine. I'd say the problem is the lower and not the magazine. |

Its a CMMG lower I got a while back. Mags should easily insert and drop free when the release button is hit. If you've tested this lower with several known-good mags, then the lower is out of spec. I wouldn't grind on it...if you do, you own it and there might be something else wrong with it |
| Ok so, after some research (call to CMMG) the deal is the MK-4 MLTI receiver was designed with the .22 conversion kits in mind. That was not stated information on the vendor's web site. CMMG says the aluminum mags will not work but PMAGs should be fine. They are still tight but seem to feed better and does not damage the magazine after testing. Thanks to all who responded. Oh ya, that model is not made any more. |
