Relevant to my interests. I've been toying with the idea of using some lead shot to add weight to one of my buffers. I messed around with it and found that it turns into a rattler if you do not keep the shot from moving or pack it tight enough. I considered using wax at one point to fill in the empty air pockets but decided to just order the Tungsten(W) powder. It can make a mess and it is not like Iron(Fe) where you can get a magnet and pick it all back up. |

Has any one found a small container that would fit inside the buffer body?
That way you could put the amount of W powder and a weak spring in the assembly for the proper slosh effect. Or not fully pack the powder in there (oh, that seems to be what Name Brand does). Containerized powder would be easer to custom adjust (yea... for each load you want to shoot). |

But if it compacts together into a lead clump, wouldn't it act like a regular buffer weight? |

I wouldn't use the powder, i would use the tungsten spheres....they make em smaller but here is an idea...1.5mm is the smallest this place has.
