[ARCHIVED THREAD] - M&P15 Issues

I called my dealer about a M&P15X I ordered about two months ago. I was told that everyone of the M&P15's are on backorder due to an issue with the bolt. He also advised that S&W will extend the rebate date because of the issue. Can anyone confirm this, or is my dealer full of it.

That's a new one to me. I thought they were getting their bolts and carriers from LMT nowadays, but don't quote me on that.

Probably best to call S&W Costomer Service (1-800-331-0852 Monday thru Friday 8A to 8P eastern time) and get the straight scoop.

Not something I've heard of before. I would tend to doubt it without some sort of industry confirmation.

It's probably more like they can't get enough bolts from the vender. S&W has been pumping out alot of those AR's. I bought mine a month ago and the ser. # is 71.xxx.
