Im getting ready to build a Maten. Let me make sure I have this correct. I f I go with a Armalite barrel I must use a Armalite bcg and the same with dpms? All other
parts are interchangable. Thanks |

Barrel nut must be DPMS format. BCG and barrel must be manufacturer matched. All i can think of off the top of my head.

I bought my barrel and monolithic MEGA MATEN receiver set from Rainier arms. I installed the Noveske barrel using the barrel nut that came with the receiver set.
It is my understanding that the Noveske barrel is 'Armalite pattern' so I also used an 'Armalite pattern' BCG. I just used the barrel nut that came with the receiver set so hopefully I didn't do something wrong. I was of the understanding that the supplied barrel nut would work regardless of which pattern barrel was used (DPMS or Armalite). I saved all of the MEGA Arms 308 receiver set specs/PDFs and I do not recall any of that info specifying that a different barrel nut should be used for any specific barrel pattern. I imagine that it would matter which barrel nut is used if you intend to use a separately purchased barrel nut. I hope that this assumption is true. |
