OK, I have a frankengun. ASA lower with a Jewel trigger installed. RRA DCM NM upper. I have two (dumb?) questions. 1) I have never owned an AR with a stainless or chrome barrel before. Is it normal for some carbon to appear on the barrel under the front site? 2) I am having intermittent failures to reset the trigger. I have used this lower on a space gun for years and never had a problem. BUT, I always used match ammo before and the problem only evidenced when I started using 193. Perhaps the Jewel needs periodic adjustment? Thanks guys. |

Bear, Just an FYI. Took it back to the guys who installed the Jewell for me. Discovered I have a damaged sear. Don't know exactly what this means except probably money. I sure won't pay for another Jewell when I can get a RRA trigger for $95 from that guy in NH. And now I know how I can install the RRA trigger in about 15 minutes. |

That's interesting. That Jewell must have alot of miles on it. Anyway, the trigger sear ought to be easy enough to replace, but it might be recommended to replace the whole thing. What did the guys who installed the Jewell say? FYI, here are online instructions for the Jewell trigger, if you decide to keep it. www.highpowerrifle.com/Jewell.htm |

Bear, Thanks for the link. This aft I am going to take a look and see if this is something I can handle. I think I can since I have installed triggers in Ruger 10/22s and Mark IIs, and rebuilt a Glock. Can't be that hard... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'll let you know how it comes along. James |
