I know this is a silly question but I honestly couldn't find the answer in searching.
When you are looking at barrel lengths and they are saying 7.5/10.5/14.5 etc. Is that the measurement that is sticking out past the barrel nut? Or does that measurement include the extension and feed ramps that go inside the receiver? I am asking mostly so I can make sure I get the right length of handguard, I don't want a tone of barrel sticking out but I also don't want the tip of the muzzle break inside the handguard either. If I have a 9" handguard, will a 10.5 barrel will the comp/break still stick out the front an inch or so? |
| Measurement is take from the bolt face which is about 5/8"s inside the upper. Most barrels are 1/8" longer than whatever the manufactor specifies (altough some are up to 1/2"). So for practical purposes a 10.5" barrel would come to the end of a 10" handguard, a 11.5" barrel would extend 1" past a 10" handguard, etc. |
