I'm looking to test the waters with a scope on my 20" AR.  Don't want to break the bank with a first scope purchase, so I've been looking at a couple of 3-9x40 scopes:

Burris Fullfield II
Nikon Team Primos

Both can be had in the $220 range, then I'll need something to mount them on my A3 flattop with - looking at the Armalite bracket as a cheap option, and a LaRue if I can scrape together the cash.

I'm looking to use this scope only for target shooting at 75-200 yards.  Not looking for fast acquisition or super long shots - just something to initiate me into scope shooting.

So, is there any significant difference between these two scopes?  Are there others in this price range that I should be considering?

Thanks in advance.

I've never used the ones you listed, but it couldn't hurt to check eBay.

Take a peek at the Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40.

Here's the cheapest I've found yet ... $159. 01

I would not hesitate to recommend a Burris FFII as a first scope.  You should be able to find a 3-9x w/ free binoculors for around $200.00.
