| It is my understanding that he Mega Maten recievers will accept either the AR-10 armalite barrels and mags or the DPMS 308 system barrel and mags. It also appears that the safety, trigger, mag release is the the same as the ar-15. Is this true? Has anyone used the Mega Maten single stage trigger. Looking for a good single stage trigger but i'm on a budget. |

The MATEN sets use a DPMS format magazine only. You can use whatever barrel you want, Armalite or other. The barrel with dictate your bolt carrier, use a dpms barrel you need a dpms bolt/carrier. Same for Armalite, Arma barrel, Arma bolt/carrier, with one addition. Armalite uses a slightly different length gas tube, so if you use an Arma barrel you will need there specific gas tube. As for the LPK you can use an Ar15 kit, but may want to swap out the bolt catch/release to a 308 sized one. The ar15 one apparently works, but doesn't have as much surface to stop the larger bolt, and I've heard of them breaking with repeated use.
For the trigger you should look into this, its new, but getting some good feedback. |

Magpul 20 Round PMAG - 7.62X51 (.308) works perfectly (DPMS format).
You can buy individual lower parts from Rock River Arms for about $20. You can buy a whole AR-15 lower parts kit, but a lot of those parts will be redundant because MEGA has some already installed in their lower. this thread lists the parts that are already installed and what parts will be needed. Definitely get a 308 bolt catch. Later I upgraded to a Phase 5 Tactical EBRv2/308 Extended Bolt Release. It's a very handy little upgrade. |
