I lurked around this site for some time and gathered a bunch of info before attempting my first AR build. I decided on a gas piston setup and really liked what I read about the Mega products. Unfortunately I did not get pics along the way, but the finished product is better than no pics at all. I thought I would share for other first time builders...a little research goes a long way.

Mega billet lower
Mega carbine monolithic billet upper
Adams Arms MTS gas piston
TDS trigger
TDS lower parts kit
1in9 twist chrome lined barrel
Hogue grip
TDS stock
Grip Pod (mil spec)
Strikefire red dot
Magpul back up sights
Magpul XTM rail panels
Surefire G2X Pro LED in GGG mount

PA 5x magnifier and FTS mount &
Duracoat Urban camo coming soon :-)

Based on the picture, that's not a G2 LED.

ETA:

If it is a G2LED, they you have a different lens on it.  Is it a G2X perhaps?

Yes...my bad it is in fact a G2X Pro. Didn't realize they were not one in the same. So much for my research haha.

I too lurked on here for a coons age. I didn't go piston but i went with a Mega lower and it's aweoms. Fit is great on my Rainier Gen 2 upper. I dig your rifle, but I'm not a fan of the coloring on the lower and the MEGA on the upper.

Thanks....I did the color fill as sort of an experiment. I am not sold on it, but figured I would just leave it till I do the camo paint.

That's cool. When I first started looking to build one I was so sold on the Spikes lowers with the colored flags or skulls or what have you, then I realized I was probably just going to spray camo it anyway....

Well...being that I am new to AR's, I'm not so sure I know how to explain the handling characteristics without sounding like a newbie lol. The recoil and muzzle rise are minimal. It's fairly light compared to my 20" Spikes. I have not put a ton of ammo through it yet, so more to come :-)

Looking good!1  Can't wait to get the $$$ to build one.......I'm leaning towards an SPR build.
