Did a search and didnt find anything on this so here it goes.    Got  micro t-1 o. The way.  Looking at different mounts. For co witness.     Any thoughts.   Looks At the larue and the a.r.m.s.    both pretty close in price.   Any preferences.   I see lot more on here about larue than anything. So I'm guessing most everyone on here is into larue.   So I'm looking g at the larue lt751. And the arms#31.     It's going on my 14.5" light weight.  With my geissele mk4 rail.

When I purchased mine there were only three options if I remember correctly.  Larue, arms, and KAC.  I went with Larue and have been super happy.  I think the KAC mount is nice also.  I don't buy arms stuff.

Now there is the Daniel defense,  ADM, spikes, etc.

Lots of good options.  I can vouch that the Larue is gtg though.

If you go with the A.R.M.S. mount, get the MKII lever and not the non adjustable original design. There is zero noticeable difference between the ADM, ARMS and KAC mounts I have, pic your preferred name and go with it.

For non qd, go Daniel Defense. For qd, go LaRue, and this is from someone who openly dislikes Mark LaRue. Not a fanboi opinion.

Larue has managed to piss off an entire other forum!  Lol.   Thanks for a true opinion based not based on the larue kool aid

I have a LaRue LT751 mount on my SBR and the Daniel Defense mount on my LW 16" gun. Very happy with both of them.

Does anyone have an opinion on absolute or 1/3 co witness?

If one or both of your "iron sights" are fixed, I recommend the lower 1/3 cowitness.

If you have folding front and rear sights, the "absolute" or lower 1/3 cowitness will work well for you.

People who are unfamiliar, confused, or misinformed about the meaning of "absolute" cowitness seem to think it is inherently more accurate or better because "absolute" is an adjective that indicates perfection.

If you have a micro size red dot sight (or a full size aimpoint for that matter), fixed iron sights can really clutter up the sight picture.

Lower 1/3 allows you to keep your head more upright, keeps the FSP from covering as much as your optic field. Even if you have a folding FSP, I highly recommend running with it up.

LaRue all the way, if you don't want QD buy a  LaRue VFZ and save $25.

LaRue has the right mount for the Micro T-1.

I bought one totally assembled by LaRue.

This is good advice, but like others have stated, go with the 1/3 co-witness for a more heads-up option.  LT660

If you don't want QD, the Daniel Defense mount is lighter and more solid than the VFZ.

This is a good post.

I honestly prefer the lower 1/3rd co-witness either way but the LT751 looks pretty cool.

Yes. I have both set ups and prefer absolute co-witness with BUIS folded down. I get a better cheek weld with the sight a bit lower, better field of view compared to my AR with lower 1/3 + FSB and LMT BUIS, plus it's aligned slightly closer to the bore for less off-set. main reason is cheek weld, all faces are not the same, try both and see which lines up better for you. I know there is the "BUIS should always be up" camp and that's very valid thinking but I choose not to for various reasons, but this thread isn't about that.

+1, I too concur with this line of thinking and set up, co-witness on my AR as well. The LaRue LT 751 mount is the way I set it up.

I received my LaRue LT660 about three weeks ago.  I have it on my Colt 6920 Socom and couldn't be happier.  It is a very nice mount for the Aimpoint T1.
