Looking to build an AR Mid-Length. Currently have a RRA M4 lower and am considering making a complete RRA Mid-Length rifle. Found a RRA Mid-Length Upper to match the lower for a reasonable price-$499, but then I saw a CMMG Mid-Length Upper w/HBAR for $525.
Which one is the better of the two? Will the CMMG upper fit perfectly on the RRA lower? Any help on this would be great. |

Quoted: Will the CMMG upper fit perfectly on the RRA lower? Maybe but that depends on what do you define as "fitting perfectly"?
Upper and lower fitment is the luck of the draw to some degree. It's a matter tolerance stacking and even then, upper and lower fitment does affect accuracy. If it really matters to you, the only way to get exactly what you want is to have both in hand and see how they fit together. Otherwise, you roll the dice and see what happens. |

I went with the 16" RRA A4 Midlength recently and installed it on my Armalite lower with all RRA parts. I've been very happy with the results. The RRA upper produces a very accurate rifle. There is zero slop or gap between the upper and lower on my setup and the pins fit nice and tight without any play. |

I have gotten 3 uppers from one (very high quality) company and put them all on the same lower and they all fit differently. All of the specs have a +/- range they fit into. |
