Okay so i am gonna spend the money for an upper in either CAR length or MID length.  Which one should i get?  What are the pros and cons of each?  I plan on putting mutliple rounds of 9mm ammo through the gun, more than my .223 rifle.   What do fell arfcommers feel about this? I am going to add that the upper is from RRA!!!

For me, the mid-length is better handling.
I'm 5'11 and the extra length of the handguard is much more comfortable, allowing for a hold further out than the carbine.

I like both though.

The Carbine would be better suited if you plan to SBR it down the road. (Less work/mods)

I like the midlength, I find when I try to get zero'd in for longer range shots, that with the CAR handguard my hand moves forward and I hit the FSB.  With the midlength I have enough space to move my hand out to where I want it to be.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say.

I'm gonna use you for a thought-to-text converter from now on.

I have one of each, but I like the midlength best.  The longer hand guard length is more comfortable for me and like the others said, if you are using iron sights, you have a longer sight radius.  One other side note, a bayonet fits properly on the midlength.  On a CAR with a 16 barrel the bayonet hangs back on the barrel.
