I bought a vertical mill. A Clausing 8520.
Is there anywhere I can go that has a list of mills & drill bits needed to complete a 0% lower? An 80% lower? It would save a lot of time if something like this was available for reference. IMO it would be "sticky" worthy.
Thanks. |

This is the tool list from a manual a lot of us used to machine from a 0% forging.
http://arlower.ray-vin.com/ar15/chapter13appendix.pdf That gives you a list of tooling to do it the way he did it, but you might prefer to do things differently. For instance I use a 5/8" endmill where he uses 3/4", just because I had a long 5/8" cutter on hand. Most of the time I use ordinary Bridgeport clamps instead of nifty clamps he used. You can look through the rest of the manual to see how and why he chose the fixtures and tooling he used and substitute when you have something else that will do the job. |
