Saw a thread somewhere about Mini Y Comps, Where can I buy one?

There are much better choices but here you go.

Eeeeeeekkkk.

Do not buy a mini Y. They sound/feel like a grenade going off 20'' from your face. As the above poster stated, there are way better choices.

They are definitely abusive to the shooter, and even worse for those around you.

I can't tell you what I think is best because I don't use brakes on my ARs. Whatever the race gun guys are using would probably be a good start.

Edited cause I'm an idiot.

You live in a free state so get the flash hider unless you like a really loud gun.  If you really want a compensator for fast follow ups than there are better choices than the mini Y.  I have heard good things about the JP Precision model.

I would never use one on my gun.

You can have mine, it came pinned and welded so that it would be NY legal. I posted a few threads asking how to get it off, and it gets destroyed in the process. So I can send you the pieces It is my only AR so I have grown used to it. And I guess it helps that I have nothing else to compare it to.

Everyone bitched about those things so much during the ban, I can't believe people would voluntarily want to put one on their rifle.

Dude, 20 min with a dremel will make short order of that Y comp.  Use the cutting wheel, will cut like hot knife in butter through the compensator.  Cut down untill you see the "shine" of the barrel, use a wedge(flat screw driver) and it will split like cord wood. UR done!!

Are they all threaded if the barrel came factory bushmaster?  I have a barrel I have wanted to remove the "y" comp off of, but just haven't tried yet.  It would be great if it were threaded underneath.

It WILL be threaded under there, just make sure you work SLOWLY as you cut down to where the threads are.  If you cut the Y comp completely through down the long sides, you actually will not need to cut deeply to the threads.  You will use the wedge to complete the break.  It really is not difficult once you start cutting down the long side and get  a feel for the work.

Thanks.  I may give it a try.

The Jerry Miculek is the best muzzle brake for the money.
