Currently working on getting parts rounded up, which is tough. At the moment, I have a Code Red lower on order and a RRA Stage 2 Trigger Kit.
1. Looking at a Magpul stock, does it come with everything I need to attach it to the lower? For some reason when looking at the picture, it seems it is missing something. Here is what I'm looking at... http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG400/82 2. Will I need a lower receiver kit along with the trigger kit? 3. Concerning the RRA order, I purchased it off of their website on 1-2-13. After I hit "submit", I received the generic email about my order. After that....nothing. I have tried calling all week, with everytime I try, the line is busy. I have also tried emailing, but nobody responds. Has anybody heard from them, or know a better way to get in touch. Still doing lots of learning on this. This will be my 1st build, and just want to make I get everything correct. |

Here is what I'm looking at... http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG400/82 You'll want to order the complete kit, not just the stock. The complete kit contains the stock, receiver extension (buffer tube), buffer, spring, end plate and castle nut. You'll also need a castle nut wrench 2. Will I need a lower receiver kit along with the trigger kit? Yes you need a Lower Parts Kit (LPK). The two stage trigger is only the trigger, diconnector and hammer parts. You'll end up with some parts left over from the LPK, trigger, disconnetcor, hammer, springs. Every dealer and manufacturer is inundated. You are one in thousands of orders and e-mails and phone calls (simultaneously). Be patient, give it 2 months minimum, ask for an update in a month when things calm down. Still doing lots of learning on this. This will be my 1st build, and just want to make I get everything correct. Building is fun and a good way to learn. Go slow and be methodical. Congrats! |
| And if you can't find a stock kit, just grab the stock and you can order the other stuff separately (buffer, buffer tube, buffer spring, castle nut and end plate). You might want to take a look at some of the end plate options as well instead of just a stock end plate. You can get ones that allow attachment of slings. But if you order the stock and buffer tube separately, make sure they are either both mil-spec or both commercial... |

At least this gives me a list of what else I need if I order a stock by itself. The code red lower is mil-spec. I plan on building it with everything that is mil-spec. |

(See glycerine, I told you so) Mil-spec or commercial in reference to the collapsible buttstock refers to the outer diameter of the receiver extension. They are different, commercial is larger. Just make sure you get them both the same size. |

I just had to. More confusion to slow him down gives me more time to find parts to finish my own build! So, you might as well start the carbine gas, carbine stock, carbine buffer; rifle gas, rifle stock, rifle buffer, carbine gas on a rifle stock, don't forget midlength, discussion then...

I'm sure by the end I will be forgetting something, and have learned something along the way, lol. I just know I want to keep everything at mil-spec as I can. On the Magpul website, along with others, it can be confusing looking at commercial and mil-spec. |
