Yeah sadly it's still in jail. Hopefully another 30 or so days. Buddy has been nice enough to let me shoot his a couple times so far. That has helped.

I have a black M4A1 FSP rail inbound that will be getting chopped to a MK18 FSP rail. Who has done this and has some pics of the chop work during and after? Also did you guys spray paint them after or have them coated? Let's see some pics for inspiration.

TNW has some pics of his chopped rail at the top of the page. I would imagine you would almost have to paint it though, as there would be exposed aluminum where you cut it. I mean, it's not going to hurt anything, but I would imagine it would look much better sprayed.

I need some OCD type clone nazi advice on grips...

First, I just want to say for the record: I'm a fan of people using whatever grips they want on their CQBR/Mk18 clones, cuz those that use them in real life seem to change out the A2 grip for whatever they want on a regular. I personally make heavy use of the fugly umbrella corp grip

Anyway, I'd like to know, for clone-correctness purposes, how we can determine if an A2 grip is a legit mil-profile A2 grip. Don't just say "buy colt yo." Give us some specs, lines to look for, pics, etc. I figure this, while pretty boring, may actually be useful to some - because there are a ton of cheap-assed fake A2 grip in circulation...

Please, someone...enlighten us

I have two styles of Colt A2 grips.  One of them is a more matte finish and came on a M4 Carbine marked LE6920.  This one has an "F" on the inside near the hole for the screw.  The other one I have has a shiny finish and has a "E" on the inside.  Both of them seem to be the same size and are slightly fatter then the A2 grips that have come in lower parts kits.  I actually don't mind the Colt versions of the A2 grip.

had the block 2 first and have dumped more money into it but usually grab the B1 first now. The Block 1 got the shit paint job and takes the abuse and has really endeared itself to me.

Hitting the man for the wrong suppressor and wrong muzzle device? Daggers bro... Haha

Nick - I used aerosol duracote in DD FDE. Decent color, but if I had to do it again I would probably opt for patriot brown.

Man, I'm always thinking I have the perfect setup, then selling something then buying something else;  I'm horrible about it but there is just this itch.  The only two guns I've had for years and never plan on modifying in some way or selling for something later and greater are my mk-12 and my Mod-0.........and maybe recently my recce, I'm growing attached.  There is something about the Mod-0 that just feels right for me.  I"m sure others will say the same about the block 2.      It's had a new charging handle since this picture.

Right on. I need to find a 6920 barrel to get chopped. Really have the itch for a mod 0

I just bought a 10.3" upper from ADCO. Cheating, but easier lol.

Do it.  I was surprised how cheap it was to do.  Or you can just watch EE and see if someone sells one.  Buying one from ADCO is a good idea also, unless you're super anal.

Pretty smart move when it's something you aren't supposed to have. Legally.
