| Does anyone here know anything about the Model1Sales kits? They seem pretty cheap but I've never heard of them before. Is it worth investing into? Thanks! |
| As far as the kits I can not say BUT....I ordered a couple of parts from them last month. My credit card was used in less then 30 days for fraud charges. You may say so what...this happens all the time. Well this card was used only for buying gun items on the internet and had not been used for about 30 days before my order with Model 1. I discarded what other people had posted about the same thing because I figured it was a while ago and others said they had no issues. Well let me tell you they are still having issues with credit card fraud. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. |
| I ordered an upper a long long time ago from them. I'm very happy with mine. I was always told to avoid their BCAs tho..so I didn't order that. I have been using that uppet for over 5 years and have thousands of rounds through it with no problems. I think I had two jams in the first twenty rounds I fired...i consider that break in issues. Quality may be different today. I bought way before obama and any gun buying frenzy. |
| Read my post above..I think it was the fourth one down. My credit card was used last week for fraud charges. It was about three weeks after I ordered at Model 1. About $2000 worth of charges were tried to be made reportedly before my CC company called me to see if my charges. Its was so recent I still have not gotten the paperwork from my company yet on the issue. |

Thanks! I don't think I'll be using them! I have one of their kits, and a JT upper. The JT is definitely of superior quality. The quality is much like its sister company Double Star, excellent! The model 1 lower parts kit and bolt was VERY poor quality, similar to taurus internals. The mod 1 upper isn't bad, and they use ER Shaw barrels which are decent. Go JT, you can't go wrong. And we now know why prepaid or gift cards are great advise for use on the internet! |

At the time of the election two years ago, I ordered and got a 20" rifle and a 16" CAR kit from them. I guess I was lucky and the two card charges came and went without incident.
Both kits assembled with the only headache being upper/lower assembly pin detent springs being too long to compress into the lower holes. Clipping a couple coils let them compress to a solid stack and assemble the detents into the two takedown pins. I don't think the triggers and hammers were very good quality and needed work. Both completed kits have worked without failure or jamming for two years. The 20" HB A2 SS 1:8" kit is so accurate it rivals NM rifles of other makers. The CAR kit it also accurate. Neither has every failed to function, except for a bad magazine spring related headache. Their color was a perfect match to the DPMS lowers I had. |

Too bad these guys have some stains on their record from the CC thing. They have an extensive array of products and generally good quality. I don't have any experience with their lowers, but I had a Model 1 16" carbine upper and it shot great - accurate and functionally excellent.

I once tried to order from them, but when I realized the woman who answered the phone could care less about doing business,I gladly spent my money elsewhere.
Maybe management has no idea that their help behave in this way,but between the rudeness, and the CC issue,I don't see them ever being a successful business |

From the number of people reporting CC fraud, their record looks like a Pollock painting! |
